US Box Office: Guardians of the Galaxy 3 had a great second weekend. More than 500 million worldwide | Cinema

Total takings on the US charts fell in the second weekend of May, and that’s because there were no conclusive new releases: the three-day total actually drops to $93 million. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 Still firmly at the top showing a truly impressive property: With another €60.5m, Marvel Cinematic is losing less than 50% compared to its first weekend. The launch was positive but not great, but the very positive word of mouth really showed its strength with the weekend’s final results, adjusted upwards by about 4 million. Midweek data is also excellent, and now the second weekend data shows the third best drop in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe yet Black Panther (-44%) f bull (-47%).

Collectively, the comic grossed $315 million in the United States and $528.8 million worldwide. In fact, the international figure is also very positive, especially $58.4 million in China, the country where the movie is doing very well.

back to the USA, Super Mario Bros – The Movie It takes another $13 million in its sixth week, dropping just 30% to $535.9 million, for a worldwide total of $1.21 billion.

The unexpected debut of Book Club: The Next Chapter, which brought in just $6.5 million in third place. The film fails to connect with its target audience, and word-of-mouth isn’t looking particularly positive either, with a CinemaScore B. Worldwide debut of $9.6 million.

In fourth place Home – awakening evil It collects another $3.7 million, which brings it to $60 million in the US and $121 million worldwide.

Closes the top five Are you with God? I’m Margaretwhich made another $2.5 million, rising to $16.4 million.

Finally debuted in sixth place for hypnotic: the movie with Ben Affleck distributed by Ketchup Entertainment (!) scores the worst score in recent years for the actor.
