The derby between Celje and Jesenice opens the pre-season week in the Alps.

HK RST Pellet Celje and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice will face each other in a test between two teams from the Alps Hockey League on Monday. EC Bregenzerwald and SG Cortina Hafro will also play pre-season matches on Tuesday.

Celje started the pre-season with a clear 8:3 win over AHL newcomer Sisak, with Jure Povše and Danil Tsarkovskyi scoring two goals each. On Monday there will be the first derby against Jesenice in preparation for the ninth Alpine season. In the only pre-season match played so far, the Slovenian Steelers were defeated 2:5 by Romanian club Girgiu Hong Kong.

Bregenzerwald and Cortina at work on Tuesday
Two more teams from the Alpine Hockey League will play preseason games on Tuesday. EC Bregenzerwald will visit EHC Winterthur in Switzerland. After defeats to Kaufbeuren and Chur, the Vorarlberg team is still waiting for its first victory in the preseason.

SG Cortina Havreux will play their sixth game of the preseason. The AHL runner-up will go to Fassa Falcons for a match valid for the 7th Ladin Cup. Cortina won the first game a few days ago with a score of 9:1.
