Penn State men’s hockey player Christian Berger has entered the transfer portal, according to GopherPuckLive. Head coach Jay Gadowski often cited the captain as a leader in the locker room.
The St. Louis, Missouri, native missed the final six games with an injury before the Nittany Lion’s season ended in the Big Ten Tournament.
During the 2023 season, Berger earned six points before his season-ending injury. During his four years with the team, Berger scored 42 points through nine goals and 33 assists.
The captain becomes the fifth player to enter the transfer portal since it opened in March. So far, the Nittany Lions have lost ryan kirwan, Liam SoulierAnd Dylan Gratton, Chase McClain and Tyler Puckett to the gate.
Amid the losses, Penn State added a UConn goaltender Arseny Sergeev Through the portal.
