The new film season is knocking on the door and the 2025 campaign Insight Ready to go: in fact, from Monday 2 September, the “Io sono Visionario” 2025 card will be available for purchase, which will accompany viewers on a long journey of first viewings, films in original language, retrospectives, cultural events. and objective reviews. The illustration for this year’s 2025 campaign is signed by Cristiano Antonotti. A free interpretation of the adjective “visionary”: sitting on the bed, in his little room, we find a little boy whose imagination is completely unleashed and who begins to fly. He begins to explore all possible worlds, just like in the cinema once the lights go out… Antonotti, architect and passionate about applied arts (from music to hand-drawn drawing to generative artificial intelligence), works as a collaborator in design studios and companies in the province of Udine.
The curtain of the new season will fall Thursday, September 5The title that audience expectations have already focused on is: Beetlejuice Beetlejuicethe blockbuster that brought Tim Burton a sequel to his beloved old Beetlejuice (we’ll find Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, flanked by newcomer Gina “Mercoledo” Ortega). It was 1988 and anyone expecting a Ghostbusters clone had to think again, finding themselves confronted with a wild, crazy, macabre, snarky, and visually unique comedy. The adjective “Burtonism” was born!
The macabre dance of Beetlejuice will begin at the Venice Film Festival, and from Venice, two other films that are really not to be missed will arrive: Battlefield by Gianni Amelio (September 5), set in Friuli-Venezia Giulia during the First World War; and Joker: Folie à Deux by Todd Phillips (October 2) with the odd couple Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. From Cannes, Kirill Serebrennikov’s Lemonov (September 5), based on the bestseller by Emmanuel Carrère, will arrive, and soon we will also see on the big screen one of the most beloved titles by American independent critics, Love Lies Bleeding by Rose Glass (September 12). From the end of October, all the spotlight will be on Parthenope, Paolo Sorrentino’s latest masterpiece.
