More AHL teams begin preseason

This weekend, three more teams from the Alpine Hockey League – Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, SIJ Acroni Jesenice and EC Bregenzerwald – will play their first pre-season match. Furthermore, SG Cortina Havrø and HC Gherdina Fajordina will play their second Ladino Cup match while Red Bull Hockey Juniors will take part in a youth tournament in Switzerland.

The Ladin Cup started on Tuesday between Gherdina and Cortina. The home team from Alto Adige celebrated a clear 4-0 win and the two teams will face each other again on Friday, this time in Cortina.

Vipiteno, Gessens and Bregenzerwald begin pre-season
Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan will host DEL2 side Ravensburg Towerstars in their first pre-season match on Friday. Also on Friday, SIJ Acroni Jesenice will host Romanian club Gyergyói HK. EC Bregenzerwald will start their pre-season on Saturday with a pre-season match against DEL2 side ESV Kaufbeuren.

The Red Bull Hockey Juniors are also in action this weekend. At the EVZ Prospects Challenge in Zug (SUI), a high-profile junior tournament, the juniors were narrowly beaten 0:1 by the hosts in their first match. Salzburg take on Helsinki on Thursday. The tournament concludes with a placement match on Sunday.
