Iranian Minister: European Union sanctions are unfortunate
The sanctions announced by the European Union following the Iranian attack on Israel are ““Unfortunate” because the country acted in self-defenseIranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian wrote on X.
Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles at Israel, in what it said was a response to a suspected Israeli bombing of an Iranian consulate building in Damascus, Syria.
Yesterday, EU foreign ministers agreed in principle to expand sanctions against Iran by agreeing to extend restrictive measures on Tehran’s arms exports, from any drone or missile, to Iranian representatives and Russia.
Amir Abdollahian said: “It is unfortunate to see the European Union quickly decide to implement more illegal restrictions on Iran simply because Iran is exercising its right to self-defense in the face of reckless Israeli aggression.”
“The European Union should not follow Washington’s advice to please the criminal Israeli regime, and it is also unfortunate that while the Israeli regime continues to commit genocide against the Palestinians through various war crimes, missile attacks and starvation, the EU’s response to such crimes is nothing more than an act.” Of empty words,” added the head of Iranian diplomacy. The Iranian minister concluded, “The European Union must act responsibly and punish the Israeli regime.”
