Only 32% of Israelis approve of Netanyahu
More than seven months after the war with Hamas in Gaza, an opinion poll showed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s support rate does not exceed 32%. Only among voters of Likud, the right-wing nationalist party, does the percentage rise to 35%. This was reported by The Times of Israel. Netanyahu’s main opponent, National Unity Chairman Benny Gantz, is slightly more popular, with an overall approval rating of 35%. This number rises to 42% among center-left voters. The poll found that Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who spoke out against Netanyahu in a televised speech this week, received good ratings from 43% of Israelis. Other ministers in Netanyahu’s government also received bad results in the opinion polls, as Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich received 21%, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir received 28%, and Transport Minister Miri Regev received 27%. Opinions of IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevy amid the ongoing war are more divided, according to the poll, with 46% of respondents rating him favorably and 46% unfavorably.
