“Life for sport.” So says the plaque in honor of Aldo Baraldi located in Palamolza and which aims to remember the mod hockey hero, an Italian pioneer in this field and to whom he also owes his roots in the city. So much so that the wheel company founded in 2021 in Modena bears his name “Aldo Baraldi Avia Pervia Asd”. Beraldi died in 2020 at the age of 81, due to the Corona virus.
The award, located inside Pavilion A, identifies Baraldi as a player for the Italian national team from 1956 to 1968, making 94 appearances, some as captain, and wearing the blue jersey for which he was named MVP at the World Championship in Santiago, Chile. 1962; Also in 1962, he won the gold medal from the International Federation. Champion of Italy in 1957 and 1960 with Amatori Modena, he was awarded the Bronze Medal for “Sporting Value” by CONI in 1966. After ceasing to play, he began his career as a coach and his international standing led him to captain the Indian national hockey team. From 1999 to 2018, which contributed to the promotion of track hockey also in the Asian country.
