Goalkeeper Simon Hroubek, who was injured on Sunday in the Euro Hockey Tour in the Czech Republic’s 4-0 defeat by Sweden, will have to rest for several weeks and therefore will not be able to defend Zurich’s cage in the National League in the upcoming matches. The nature of the injury that occurred to the 31-year-old, statistically the best goalkeeper in the league with 93.44% of saves, is unknown, though everything points to a problem with his lower body. The Lions will therefore be counting on Ludovic Weber, who will join Geoffrey Meyer, who was promptly recalled from his loan at Friborg.
Abdelkader stays in Zug until the end of the season
Justin Abdel Kader has arrived at Bossard Arena to temporarily replace an injured Carl Klingberg, and has extended his deal with the Bulls through the end of the season. The 35-year-old, with just one assist in six matches, is already emerging as Swiss champion with Central Switzerland in 2020-21.
