The inconvenience to donors in recent weeks, which was necessary to prepare the Avis Legnano headquarters for plasma collection, was compensated with a gift of appreciation. It's about“Cosmic Illusion” by Pietro Pinaro, an artist with whom the city department has a special relationship.
It was in 2007 when the extension work on the Avis headquarters was opened, and at that time the main wall directly in front of the entrance to the donor room was decorated with a geometric landscape, one of the most characteristic themes of a Pinaro production. Just as this wall has become part of the environment of the place, the same will certainly happen with the new work donated by the painter.
“I like to think that each of my artworks is the beginning of a journey for those who look at them,” Pinaro says. “Everyone will see something different in it, depending on their sensibilities and experiences. “It is a space of freedom, for me as an artist, but also for those observing the painting.”. Now the latter enters into a relationship with another space, the donation room, where he has already begun to meet many of the people who live in it and pass through it.
The path Pinaro has taken may surprise those who have known him recently. Certainly the most distinctive subjects in his paintings are landscapes, female subjects, or abstracts which have more to do with Kandinsky than Pollock. However, latently, abstract elements such as those that make up the series entitled “Cosmic Illusion”, of which the painting in our premises is a part, have always been present in Pinaro’s production.
The research then took a more visible form about seven years ago, meeting the general public for the first time in 2022, with Exhibition at Palazzo Leone da Perego in Legnano. A great success, and another dedication to the artist who has made Legnano his city for a long time now.
