(23 August 2022) – “Last Sunday I participated in the celebrations in honor of Our Lady of Canetto in Marylake King City, Ontario (Canada) at the welcome invitation of Tony Malicia of the Canetto Society, Holy Mass.

In my congratulatory message, I recalled how this celebration was a beautiful moment of religion and tradition, which will take us back to the origins, that is, to the territory of Settefrati in Lazio and the Marian sanctuary built in the ninth century in the area of ​​Canetto. .

I also recall the conference I promoted in the House of Representatives to present the “Felicita Back Home” project created by Claudia Bettiol, which aims to make the children of immigrants from the Settefrati region aware of their native territory. In fact, the mayor of the country, Frateroli, also participated in the presentation, giving full support to the initiative and Tony Malicia, far away, thus connecting two communities of the region, one in Italy and one in Canada. .

Here, today it can be said that these relations are alive and can create connecting initiatives, thanks to the celebration of Madonna del Caneto, which can never cancel the civic meaning and the spiritual meaning.
