The iOS 16.4 release candidate released last night revealed that the new update, which will arrive next week for all users, enablesSound isolation even for calls.
Apple says that sound isolation will prioritize our voice and It will block out the ambient noise around uswhich makes phone calls clearer and allows you to better hear the person you’re talking to.
The feature was already available for VoIP calling on FaceTime, WhatsApp, and other apps on devices running iOS 15 and macOS Monterey and later, and it’s designed to dramatically improve microphone quality during calls by reducing background noise.
How to enable sound isolation during calls:
- Make sure you have iOS 16.4 installed on your iPhone;
- initiate a phone call;
- During a call, we access the Control Center;
- Click on the “Standard microphone” button at the top right;
- We choose the option acoustic isolation.
Once enabled, the feature will mask its surroundings to make our voice clearer. To disable sound isolation, we follow the same steps and select the “Standard” option.
