After the first open day, which took place last week in Palermo, the day was repeated, in Palma di Montchiaro (Agrigento), with a new date with the integrated football activity, organized by the regional coordination of the youth sector and schools in Sicily. The assembly and social initiative was carried out in the municipal square of the city of Agrigento and involved male and female athletes with disabilities who competed in ball games and mini-games together with healthy male and female players of the categories Pulcini and Esordienti. A morning dedicated to sport, health and fun, which was attended by the clubs Santa Sofia Licata, Athens Agrigento, Rafanosa and Leopard Palma di Montchiaro, the club that hosted the event.
The Regional Coordinator of the Youth and School Sector Stefano Valente also spoke and opened the Games by emphasizing the playful importance that integrated football represents, as an educational and developmental tool: “I am particularly happy with this activity which involves not only football schools, but also ‘special’ children, as I call them – confirms the federal coordinator Valenti – with a celebratory side dish for the parents who accompany and gladly attend in this initiative.
The on-field activity was managed by Integrated Football Regional Liaison Officer Angelo D’Auria, assisted by the Federal Technicians of the FIGC Youth and Schools Sector.
