In the first round after the international break different results for the Italians in the race. On the tour, the Carinthian teams from the Ice Hockey League stood out above all, which made an impressive comeback. While Villach defeated league leaders HCB Südtirol Alperia 6:3, EC-KAC celebrated a 3:1 success against Moser Medical. EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV secured a 6-3 victory over league leaders HCB Südtirol, Climb to fifth place in the ranking. The Foxes remain top of the league table despite their fifth away defeat. At first it looked like a low-scoring game in Villach. Only at the end of the second half were the first cheers heard in the Stadthalle and twice: Alexander Rauschenwald gave his team a 2:0 lead with two goals in the space of four minutes.

The Foxes, however, pulled one back with Thomas and started to be dangerous, but the Eagles didn’t let the red and white get close and kept going with goals from Benjamin Lanzinger and John Hughes while Bolzano responded again with Thomas and Halmo. In the end, Rauschenwald scored a goal into an empty net, fixing the end of the meeting and his personal hat-trick.

The first half played with great balance between the two teams even if it was the Giallorossi who had the best chances to take the lead. In the end, efforts are rewarded with coaching by Barrasso. Two minutes after the end of the break, Cepon is sent to the bench to keep it and Migross Asiago takes advantage of it: the second block of powerplay traps Morrone’s goal and in the end he finds the opening goal with Misley, skilled in serving a rebound 14 seconds before the siren.

Olympia spins the ball well, but in the end it is not very effective, and so at the final whistle Asyago can celebrate their second victory in a row, and their fourth in the last five matches.
