Margarita Vicario makes her directorial debut with the movie Gloria!

Actress, singer and songwriter, Margarita Vicario makes her directorial debut with the movie Gloria!A film that brings to the screen the story of Teresa, a young woman of great talent living in Venice at the end of the eighteenth century. Filmed in Friuli Venezia GiuliaWith the contribution of the FVG Film Committee – PromoTurismoFVG, the film will be accompanied in the theater by director and actress Galatea Bellugi, and the guests. Tuesday 16 April at the Visionario in Udine at 7.00 pm and at the Cinemazero in Pordenone at the end of the show at 9.00 pm.

At dawn in the year 1800, near Venice, this image emerged Sant'Ignazio Institute, a cross between an orphanage, conservatory and monastery. Here lives Teresa, a young woman with a special gift: a visionary gift that allows her to listen to the world around her and transform it, moving it with new, contemporary music, outside of her time. The magic… is broken when reality creeps in and sends her back to her duties. Yes, Because in the monastery for everyone she is Al-Mu'ta, the scullery maid who lives silent and isolated. But things are about to change for her.

Glory! It speaks of the imagination, imagination and talent of all composers who, like flowers left to dry, remain hidden in the pages of history. “In my work as a singer-songwriter, I have faced the same question for years: JWhat do you think about the situation of women in music today? Well, in order to find a comprehensive answer, the research began that led me to write Gloria! – says Margherita Vicario – Restoration History of Italian and European composers, the most curious thing for me was the discovery of the wonderful world of the Four Hospitals of Venice and the Daughters of Churro. The hospitals were women's welfare institutions offering the highest level of musical education. […] But, despite their excellent training, these artists were unable to make music a career.
