September 16-18, 2022 Bra returns to being the home of good taste thanks to the “BRA’S Festival – The Bra Sausage, Cheese, Bread and Rice”, a fascinating event that celebrates excellence in local gastronomy through the skillful hands of several star chefs.
Highlights The Gran Galа della Salsiccia di Bra event, curated by Michelin-starred chef Gian Piero Vivalda (Antica Corona Reale di Cervere), scheduled for Friday 16 September at 8 pm under the Corso Garibaldi booth, and on the weekend open to the public ( Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September) to enjoy during the culinary presentation and proposals of chefs Giovanni Grasso (La Credenza di San Maurizio Canaves, 1 Michelin star) and Seoul Kim Kee (Uri Sapori Condefici di Rodino), along with resident chefs Vincenzo La Corte (Lapola) and Davide Grimaldi ( taco). It will be a unique opportunity to taste – at an affordable price – unique and distinctive dishes. Besides the numerous dates on the table, the festival includes a large calendar of various events. Saturday 17th September starts at 11 with “Add Meat to the Fire!” , a discussion moment dedicated to Piedmontese meats, followed by a cooking show with tastings, scheduled on the patio of Palazzo Mathis
The same location will host, at 5.30pm, “Brut e Bon … Taste 100% Italian Bubbles”, where the sommelier from the Italian Sommelier Piedmont Association will accompany participants in the sensory discovery of three Italian bubbles: Alta Langa Brut Docg, Franciacorta Brut Docg and Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Extra Brut Docg.
Also space for music with the concert Saxofollia feat Fabio Bosso: at 9 pm in Piazza Caduti per la Libertа it will be possible to appreciate the meeting between one of the most internationally esteemed jazz trumpeters, Bosso, and the Saxofollia quartet, one of the Italian franchises of chamber music In both jazz and classical. free entry.
Sunday starts at 11 with “Artisan Experiences”: in the courtyard of Palazzo Mathis Confartigianato Cuneo and Gelato IGP Bra will talk about handmade ice cream with local products. Followed by the hazelnut cake “Le bontа di Cinzia” from Borgomale.
In the afternoon, from 3.30 pm to 5:30 pm, the Coldiretti educational farms of the Educazione alla Campagna Amica project in the Palazzo Garrone, in the Piazza Caduti per la Libertа, will propose the “Bee World” workshops (with the Monkey Farm Golosina from Cascina Monfrin) and “From Milk to Cheese” (with Rosanna Panero’s farm).
From 3 pm, on the courtyard of Palazzo Mathis “Camporelle: cocktails, tea and herbal teas”. Onstage at Cadotti Square in La Liberta, Autocor (4pm) and Gybomadalt Folk Band (6.30pm) will take turns in concert. free entry
Obviously there will be opportunities over the weekend for those who love art and culture, starting with the great exhibition at Palazzo Mathis featuring “The Masters” of the 20th century. Until January 8, it will be possible to admire the works of some of the most representative exponents in the artistic panorama of Piedmont of the last century, including Carol Rama, Pinot Galizio, Giacomo Soviantino, Francesco Tabuso, Renato Guttuso, Ugo Nespolo, Omar Galliani, Aldo Mondino, Romano Riviglio. Admission is free, visits are possible Thursday to Monday from 9am to 12:30pm and from 3pm to 6pm.
Finally, on Sunday, September 18, it will be possible to visit the Braidi civic museums: the Craveri Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Archeology, History and Art of Palazzo Traversa and the Toy Museum will actually open from 10 to 12.30 and from 14, 30 to 17.30.
