Anatomy of a Fall, directed by Justine Tritt, won the David Di Donatello Award for Best International Film. The award will be presented on Friday 3 May as part of the live awards ceremony, in prime time on Rai 1, from Cinecittà studios and broadcast for the first time in 4K, hosted by Carlo Conti and Alessia Marcozzi.
Already winning the Palme d'Or at Cannes and the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, Anatomy of a Fall is a psychological thriller that delves into family secrets and centers on a provocative and unconventional portrait of a woman. Sandra, played by Sandra Holler, is a writer who lives with her husband Samuel (Swan Arlaud) and blind son Daniel (Milo Machado Graner) in a remote mountain chalet in the French Alps. When Samuel dies under mysterious circumstances, Sandra is accused of murder and the trial reveals the turbulent relationship she had with her husband, as well as her mysterious personality. Things get complicated when the young son also comes to the witness stand.
The five nominees for the David Award for Best International Film, in addition to Anatomy of a Fall, include Rodrigo Soroguin's As Bestas, Aki Kaurismäki's Kuolleet Lehdet, Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon, and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer. .
