Fire in Flaminio district, Rome. Lots of scares but no injuries

Smoke billowing tens of thousands of meters high and flames shooting from windows caused panic and fear in the Flaminio district yesterday afternoon. As a result of a fire at number 25 via Guglielmo Calderini yesterday evening at 6 o’clock, an apartment on the fifth floor of the nine building was half destroyed by flames.

The flames erupted, for reasons still unclear and to be determined, but probably from the owner’s daughter’s bedroom due to a short circuit. Some fire brigade teams arrived and extinguished the fire for more than half an hour, along with police cars, the apartments were evacuated for safety due to the smoke invading the stairwells, but immediately went back. “The house was completely destroyed – says the owner Francesca – and the only evacuees now are my mother and my daughter and the tenant upstairs with her mother, we don’t know how the fire started, now we are hosting. Guys, we don’t even have clothes to change, to clarify the nonsense written by many media, At the time of the fire I was working at the ski rink in Largo Beltramelli in Pietralata, my daughter was in the gym taking a fu lesson in Piazza Bologna and my mother had an afternoon off but had gone to the supermarket to do some shopping.

Francesca was called by the tenant who lives below her apartment: “The tenant who lives below my apartment called me, run, your apartment is on fire, your mother did not answer – Francesca was still agitated – I forgot and ran too. This coat is the daughter of these friends who are hosting us even from Canada who read about the fire, and then another friend from America invited us, I don’t know the damage yet because they didn’t tell me at this time, there are seals, we don’t have anything, we are at a friends house, tonight we are going to some more people’s houses. Let’s go and hope to return soon to at least get the clothes and personal effects. We survive and understand when we can go back.”
