Adapted and remixed for the big screen, this exceptional cinematic event features close-up angle shots and an all-new vision of the entire concert. Thanks to photos collected during the concert, which was recorded in October in Busan, South Korea, in front of a sold-out crowd, the audience will be able to see performances by RM, Jin, SUGA, j-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. Their career-spanning hit songs include “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “IDOL,” as well as the first concert performance of “Run BTS” from the group’s latest album, Proof.
The movie “BTS: After He Comes to the Cinema” will be shown in cinemas around the world in more than 110 countries. Shows on Saturday, February 4th will be dedicated to “Light Stick Shows” and will allow the public to celebrate the event with a special light stick promotion. Who are BTS?
BTS, short for Bangtan Sonyeondan or “Beyond the Scene”, is a GRAMMY-nominated South Korean boy band that has won the hearts of millions of fans worldwide since their debut in June 2013. BTS members are RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Theater Burning: The Movie (2018)
The 85-minute film features live performances, highlights from the award show, off-stage moments, and interviews with the seven BTS members. The film takes fans behind the scenes of BTS’ Wings Tour to reveal the story of the group’s rise to fame. The film begins with shots of BT21 characters designed by BTS, and seconds later fans are heard chanting “BTS” and waving custom glow sticks as the members perform on stage. Throughout the film, BTS talk about the hardships and mundane side of stardom, as well as the insecurities they faced along the way and their desire to continue growing and improving as artists. The film is based on the YouTube Premium 2018 Burn the Stage documentary series. There were eight episodes in total, each lasting about thirty minutes. Also, the show’s first episode became the 10th most watched non-music video on YouTube in Korea.
Love Yourself in Seoul (2019)
The 133-minute film, also known as BTS World Tour: Love Yourself in Seoul, is a concert film by the South Korean boy band and takes place during the band’s Love Yourself Tour show on August 26, 2018 at the Seoul Olympic Stadium in Seoul, South Korea: It was revealed 42 cameras were used to shoot the film and it was jointly produced by Big Hit Entertainment and CJ CGV Screen X. Love Yourself in Seoul was released in 4,100 theaters worldwide. Two cities in Russia, Makhachkala, Dagestan and Grozny in Chechnya, banned the film after people protested online for “exaggerated immoral behavior” because they believed BTS displayed homosexual behaviour.
Bring the Soul: The Movie (2019)
Bring the Soul: The Movie is a 2019 documentary film directed by Park Jun-soo. The film alternates between various city shows on the band’s Love Yourself World Tour and a conversation between the members filmed “on a rooftop in Paris” after the end of the European leg in October 2018. Bring the Soul: The Movie grossed $4.4 million in the US and $8.2 million in other territories, with a worldwide total of $12.6 million. In the United States, the film was shown in 873 theaters, and grossed $2.3 million in its opening weekend. Film distribution company Trafalgar Releasing later announced that the film had grossed $24.3 million worldwide in a theatrical release, once again breaking the box office record for a theatrical juvenile. BTS’ first movie Burn the Stage: The Movie grossed $18.5 million after the second limited release. Bring the Soul: The Movie sold a record 2.55 million tickets in 112 territories worldwide, the largest release ever for a motion picture title event.
Breaking the Silence: The Movie (2020)
Break the Silence: The Movie is a 2020 documentary film directed by Park Jun-soo that features a behind-the-scenes look at BTS’s 2018-2019 Love Yourself World Tour. It was promoted as a sequel to the ensemble’s 2019 film Bring the Soul: The Movie. Break the Silence: The Movie follows the band on and off stage for 14 months during their “Love Yourself World Tour” and also showcases their emotionally vulnerable side, showing how they break with their personas on stage on a daily basis. It also features archive footage of the band.
BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage – Los Angeles (2022)
BTS: So Dance On Stage – LA is a 2022 concert film directed by Sam Wrench and Junsoo Park and produced by HYBE. As part of its second annual Disney+ Day event, Disney premiered the concert film on streaming services worldwide as a surprise release at midnight on September 8, 2022. The film follows live concerts held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in late 2021. The The concert film focuses on the stage and features performances of the band’s hit songs “Dynamite”, “Butter”, and “Permission to Dance”.
