Digital polyphony Consider moving the chain Gran Turismo on me computerAccording to the words of Kazunori Yamauchi, Sony studio president, in an interview with GTPlanet given during the event to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
When asked if Polyphony Digital would consider bringing its flagship series to PC, Yamauchi replied, “Yeah, I think so.”
However, it appears that this is not a decision that the studio will make lightly and there are many aspects to consider.
“Gran Turismo is a well-crafted title,” Yamauchi explained. “There aren’t many platforms that can run the game at 4K/60fps natively, so one way to achieve that is to narrow down the platforms. It’s not a very easy topic, but we’re obviously looking at it and thinking about it.”
can Gran Turismo port 7 For PC, it will undoubtedly be big news, given that we are talking about one of Sony’s most popular IPs, but that wouldn’t be too surprising.
In recent years, we’ve seen an increasing number of PlayStation Studios franchises coming to PC, such as Insomaniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man, Santa Monica’s God of War (2018), Naughty Dog’s Uncharted, and Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn. Also, according to some clues in the Steam database, the next value in the list will be Returnal.
However, from Yamauchi’s words it appears that, at the moment, Polyphony Digital is not actively working on a PC port of Gran Turismo 7, though we suspect this is information he might easily leave out during an interview.
In the meantime, post-launch support for the game continues, with Patch 1.26 introducing the ability to sell cars, a new circuit, and four cars.
